Privacy Policy

The websites located at supernaeyeglass.com, and superna.net (the “Sites”) are owned and operated by Superna Inc. (“Superna”).  Superna is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  Recently, we updated our Privacy Policy to comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Legislation (“GDPR”). If we make changes to our Privacy Policy in the future, we will place an updated version on this page and take reasonable steps to make you aware of those changes.

 

This Privacy Policy describes the information practices for the Sites, including what types of information are gathered and tracked, how information is used and with whom information is shared.  Superna maintains the same privacy practices with respect to data that it collects offline, including at trade shows and other events, and this Privacy Policy may be relied upon with respect to those methods of data collection and use.  This Privacy Policy does not describe the privacy practices of Superna resellers or any other third-party.

 

What Information We Collect:   Superna collects both personally identifiable information (“PII”) and non-personally identifiable information (“Non-PII”). PII refers to information that identifies you directly, such as your name, business affiliation, postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address. We collect PII only when you voluntarily provide it to us. Non-PII refers to information that does not identify you personally, which we may use to track your use of the Sites. For instance, we may collect information about your computer’s IP address, what type of Web browser you use, the date and time of your access, and what pages of the Sites you visit, in order to understand how the Sites are being used.

In general, you may visit the Sites without identifying yourself or revealing any PII.  However, Superna may gather PII when you:

  • register for or otherwise request product support or site support;

  • purchase products or services and / or download the product or service;

  • download a license key;

  • register to participate in an online training;

  • request other information or materials;

  • post on any chat rooms, forums, blogs, message boards and/or news groups on the Sites;

  • participate in surveys and evaluations;

  • apply for a job, or submit your resume to Superna;

  • submit any such information to the Sites; or

  • submit questions or comments to us.

The types of PII collected may include (but are not limited to) your:

  • first and last name;

  • gender (only on social media);

  • website address;

  • business, billing, or other physical address (including street name, name of a city or town, state/province, postal code);

  • (if you purchase products or services on our Sites) payment information;

  • e-mail address;

  • telephone number;     

  • information you have made publicly available on social media and third-party websites;

  • (for job applicants submitting electronic information) educational background, employment experience, and job interest; and

  • any other identifier that permits Superna to make physical or online contact with you.

Use of Your PII:   In general, Superna collects and uses your PII to operate and improve the Sites, deliver products or services, or carry out the transactions you have requested. These uses may include providing you with more effective customer service; making the Sites or services easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information; performing research and analysis aimed at improving our products, services, offerings and technologies; and displaying content and advertising that are customized to your interests and preferences.

We also use your PII to communicate with you. We may send certain mandatory service communications such as welcome letters, billing reminders, information on technical service issues, and security announcements. If you register for online trainings, support, or other events or services, we may email you information regarding those events or products or services. Some Superna products and services may send periodic updates that are considered part of the service. We may also contact you to inform you of other products, services and events that become available from Superna and its affiliates.

If we collect PII from you for any other purpose not described herein, we will identify how we will use it and first obtain your consent. If you chose not to provide your information, you may still be able to access certain portions of the Sites, products and services, although you may not be able to access certain products, programs or services. We will not use any PII for a new or different purpose unless we obtain your consent for such new purpose.

PII collected on the Sites may be stored and processed in the United States or Canada, or any other country in which Superna or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Sites or services, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you access the Sites or any Superna services from the UK or any country in the European Union, your PII will be stored in such country unless we receive your prior consent.

Protecting Your PII:  In order to protect your PII from improper disclosure, Superna uses commercially reasonably efforts to maintain a secure operating environment to protect any such information we collect. Once received, we limit access of your PII to only those employees, subcontractors and business partners with a legitimate business need to review it.  If you are located in the European Union, we will obtain your consent prior to providing access to your PII to a Superna subcontractor or business partner.  While we are committed to protecting your privacy, please be aware that no transaction over the Internet can be completely secure.

Retention: We will retain your PII for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or the Superna End User License Agreement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.   Once your information is no longer required to fulfill the identified purpose, we take care to dispose or store it properly so that neither we nor third parties will be able to access it. This includes destroying, erasing, or making unreadable the information.

 

Sharing of Your PII:  Superna will not sell, rent or lease your PII to others. Some Superna products or services use Google Analytics to collect information that does not personally identify you (for more information, please see our section on “Cookies and Browser Information” directly below). If you are located in the European Union, we will obtain your consent prior to providing access to your PII to entities or individuals working on our behalf. We will not disclose your PII to third parties for their own marketing purposes unless you have provided consent.  If you request something from the Sites (for example, a product or service, a callback, information about a training, or specific marketing materials), we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. If you are located in the European Union, we will obtain your consent prior to providing access to your PII to those third parties that help us respond to this request, such as Superna's business partners, event organizers, financial institutions, shipping companies, and postal or government authorities (e.g., customs authorities) involved in fulfillment.

We may access or disclose your PII if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on Superna; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Superna (including the enforcement of our agreements) or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Sites or Superna services or members of the public.

Cookies and Browser Information:  Cookies are small text files that a website sends to a Web browser, which are stored on the site visitor’s computer. Cookies are commonly used to track Web activity and provide an enhanced experience when using the internet. Third party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads to you while you are using a website based on your prior visits.  Superna may use cookies to collect Non-PII when you browse the Sites.  Superna uses Google Analytics for this purpose; see “How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps," www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.  If you do not want websites to be able to use cookies, you can alter the configuration of your browser to not accept cookies.  You may also opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page.

Your Rights: You have the following rights in relation to your PII:

  • a right of access to your PII held by us;

  • a right to receive your PII in machine-readable format and to give it to another company;

  • a right to opt out of direct marketing that uses your PII;

  • a right to object to processing that is likely to cause or is causing you damage or distress;

  • a right to have inaccurate PII corrected;

  • a right in certain circumstances to have your PII erased.

 

These rights can be exercised by contacting us set forth in the Contact for Questions and Concerns section below. In order to protect you, we reserve the right to verify your identity before processing any such request. If you contact us in relation to your rights we will do our best to accommodate your request or objection. Please note, however, that not all rights are absolute.

 

Your Choices:  Superna provides a number of ways for you to 'opt-out' of receiving marketing and other information from us. If you do not wish to continue receiving certain marketing materials (e.g., e-mail messages, including our email newsletter), you can opt-out of receiving these materials at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the materials or here or follow unsubscribe instructions included in all communication emails. This option does not apply to communications sent primarily for the purpose of administering orders, contracts, support, safety warnings, software updates, or other administrative and transactional notices.

How to Update Your Information:  Should your email address change, you may manage your subscription to our newsletter by unsubscribing to our email distribution list and re-subscribing with your new email address. To update any other contact information, including with respect to your receipt of Superna products and services, please email us at sales@superna.net.

WE DO NOT KNOWINGLY OR INTENTIONALLY COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18. IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18, PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO SUPERNA. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WHO HAS PROVIDED US WITH INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY AND WE WILL REMOVE THAT INFORMATION.
