Superna Announces DR Cluster Witness for VMware Cloud on AWS

Superna Eyeglass provides customers with DR monitoring and orchestration from the Cloud.

June 30th, 2018 — Superna, Business Protection You Can Count On, today announced Superna Eyeglass is available to customers of VMware Cloud™ on AWS. VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware’s enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software and elastic, bare-metal infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give organizations consistent operating model and application mobility for private and public cloud. Superna Eyeglass enables simplified and automated DR orchestration for Dell EMC Isilon customers of VMware Cloud on AWS.

When deploying business critical systems such as Dell EMC Isilon Scale out NAS and Superna Eyeglass DR Orchestration, the best practice is to monitor the infrastructure from a 3rd site, separate from the primary and secondary systems. Customers without a 3rd site can now leverage VMware Cloud on AWS.  VMware Cloud on AWS introduces a cost-effective solution to increase reliability and simplify critical infrastructure monitoring with ESX and vCenter running in AWS.

The deployment and management of virtual appliances has no learning curve for IT staff trained on internal VMware infrastructure in their own data centers.  This key concept allows customers to easily leverage Cloud services for availability, geographic separation and HA access to their on-premise systems.

“This solution allows seamless management of the Superna Eyeglass DR Orchestration for Dell EMC Isilon storage using VMware Cloud Services on AWS.  This solution lowers the cost and complexity of developing a high availability solution within your IT infrastructure,” says Andrew MacKay, President and CTO.

VMware Cloud on AWS technology partners enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and private cloud. VMware simplifies the deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. If a partner solution works on-premises in a VMware vSphere® environment, it will easily support VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware technology partners complement and enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS service and enable customers to realize new capabilities.

“VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS,” said Kristen Edwards, director, Technology Alliance Partner Program, VMware  “Solutions such as DR Cluster Witness for VMware Cloud on AWS enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Superna to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”
